Rick Rack Cactus (Selenecerius Anthonyanus)
With more identities than a secret agent, the Selenecerius Anthonyanus is commonly known by many names, including the fishbone cactus, rick rack cactus, zig-zag cactus and the St. Anthony's rik-rak. It is also referred on occasion as an orchid cactus.
What is certain is that this fast growing, epiphytic cactus has a bunch of awesome, wandering, zig-zag shaped stems that are lime green at the tips and darker at the base.
The only thing cooler than its deeply lobed, fleshy stems are it's huge, dark violet and highly fragrant flowers! These super low maintenance plants make one hell of a statement in any part of the house.
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil in the pot dries out during the Spring and Summer months. Water much less during Autumn and Winter.
Likes bright indirect light and humidity but will also handle a bit of shade.
When they arrive at your door, these beauties will have approximately 2-4 main stems that are between 30-60cm long. Their stems can get up to 1m long and 15cm wide. If you have the space they make an outstanding addition to any well lit living room. If you don't have the space, you should probably start throwing stuff out or looking for a bigger place because these plants are awesome!
Greeting your Rick Rack Cactus
We package the Rick Rack Cactus in an approximately 140mm plastic pot. If you purchase a ceramic pot we will supply a suitably sized plastic pot to allow enough soil for re-potting.
Rick Rack Cacti (and all their secret identities) are super low maintenance. Still, it's good to know what they like and are used to in the wild
