Peperomia obtusifolia variegata
This product is sold out
These semi-succulent beauties originate from the tropical rainforests of South America! It is also known as the baby rubber plant although they are totally unrelated. They have thick upright stems and thick glossy green leaves that will wrinkle when in desperate need of water.
The fact that these plants can effectively use flourescent light for photosynthesis as well as their compact habit, striking foliage and tolerance of neglect make them possibly the the best office (or home office) plant ever!
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil in the pot dries out, water less in winter. They are tolerant of drying out but will quickly die if overwatered so if in doubt, let them dry out. If possible avoid wetting the leaves when watering especially in winter!
These babies will grow happily in low light or even in flourescent light but will maintain the best variegation in bright, indirect, natural light.
They are currently approximately about 20cm tall and will remain fairly compact.
