Mistletoe Cactus (Rhipsalis baccifera)
Exactly what you might imagine the love child of a Rhipsalis camposportoana and a Rhipsalis puniceodiscus to look like. This beautiful epiphytic cactus has a dense habit with profusely branched thick stems, the habit of the R. camposportiana with the stem thickness of R. puniceodiscus and a colouring that is somewhere between the two. Arguably one of the most attractive epiphytic cacti getting around and also one of the toughest!
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil in the pot dries out during the Spring and Summer months. Water much less during Autumn and Winter.
Likes bright indirect light and humidity but will also handle a bit of shade. Great for kitchens or bathrooms that get a bit of natural light. These guys are not fans of the cold and damage will occur if exposted to temperatures below 5 degrees celcius. For the best chance of getting this beauty to flower try and maintain a stable temberature year round and don't move it once it has initiated flower buds.
Plants will be between 30-50cm long when you receive it and it will continue to fill out. They look amazing next to the Rhipsalis paradoxa or any other hanging plant with different shaped foliage!
Greeting your Rhipsalis puniceo-discus
