Hoya Pubicalyx 'Splash Leaf'
The Splash Leaf Hoya is a tough Hoya plant that is a cultivar of the commonly grown Hoya Pubicalyx. The 'Splash Leaf' Hoya has medium to large shiny green leaves with patches of white variegation that make the plant appear as though they have been splashed with liquid.
As the latin name suggests, the outer petal of the flower or the 'calyx' is hairy (covered in pubes).
As a general rule, let the top 1-2cm of soil in the pot dry out before watering again in the growing season (Spring and Summer). In the colder months let them dry out much more before watering again.
Position and Lighting
Like most Hoyas they can handle shade but if you want them to flower, and believe me, you want them to flower they need very bright light. A north facing window is the perfect position for most Hoyas.
They will be about 20 to 50cm tall when they are delivered but will climb much higher. When they get a bit more advanced you can take stem cuttings. These will give you more plants as well as encouraging the original plant to branch giving it a bushier habit.
What to do when it arrives
These plants are shipped in a 1.5L nursery pot that is wrapped in a calico bag to keep the soil in during transport. They will fit any pot from our Classic Pot Range.
