Hoya Cumingiana with Mini Bench Planter

This product is sold out

A beautiful little Hoya with smallish ovate leaves arranged in pairs up the stem. The stems of this plant have an upright growth habit which is uncommon in Hoyas as most exhibit a vining habit. As the stems get longer the will eventually droop downward.

These beauties are one of the easiest Hoyas to care for and if given enough light they will reward you with clusters of very sweetly scented yellow flowers.

As a general rule, let the top 1-2 cm of soil in the pot dry out before watering again in the growing season (Spring and Summer). In the colder months, let them dry out a bit more before watering again.

Like most Hoyas they can handle shade but if you want them to flower, and you do want them to flower, they need sufficient periods of bright indirect light (at least a few hours each day).

Managing growth

Hoya cumingiana is a small to medium sized Hoya when mature however they will be perfectly happy and remain more compact in their ceramic home for a few years. At present they have a single stem that is 10-15cm long. Although they will naturally produce multiple stems you can encourage this to happen sooner by lightly tip pruning.

About the pot

A striking hand-made ceramic piece. This pot is made with a simple yet elegant, gritty clay dipped in a white glaze. The speckled effect is created by the reaction between the ore in the clay and the glaze when heat is applied. This pot has been high-fired to ensure it is extremely durable. These planters have drainage holes and come with a matching coaster (not saucer) to maintain the clean lines of this pot. The bottom of the coaster has been sanded smooth to ensure it won't scratch your furniture.

Product dimensions: 9cm wide x 9cm tall (including coaster)
