Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron cordatum)
$26.00
Good old Philodendron cordatum is one of the easiest houseplants to care for making it a great beginners aroid. They have, believe it or not, been in cultivation since the Victorian times. It is native to southeastern Brazil and Argentina and gets its common name from the beautiful medium/large heart shaped leaves it produces.
Watering
Wait until the top 2-3cm centimetres of soil in the pot has dried out before watering heavily.
Position
Bright indirect light and a humid position is great for these guys. That said, they are pretty tolerant of lower light but they will produce smaller leaves.
Managing growth
Currently about 20 to 30cm tall but each trailing stem will easily get up to a metre, probably in one growing season. When they get a bit big just give them a prune and you'll end up with a much bushier plant!
Greeting your Heart Leaf Philodendron
