Stripey Blue Steel Planter by TRADE the MARK

The stunning markings on this planter represent the artists conection to the Aussie Bush - thick, black lines map journeys both real and imagined; rock formations, gum trees and mottled patches of lichen appear and disappear within each piece’s textures, patterns and layers.

This beautiful planter has no drainage hole to protect your furniture. Just pop your plant out, give it a good drink, wait until it stops dripping and you're good as gold!

A bit about the ceramicist

This piece was made by the amazingly talented Christina Mclean a.k.a TRADE The MARK. The bold patterns, muted colour palette and pared-back finishes of Trade the Mark ceramics speak of Christina’s deep love of the Australian bushland, and the guidance she finds there.

For over two decades, Christina McLean has been obsessed with materials – how they speak and what they say. Her most enduring fixation has been with clay; she’s been glazing, firing, and throwing since she left art school in the early 1990s. Her work embodies her vision, values and creativity. Within each pot is found a hint of her journey and her values. Every TRADE the MARK object, whether functional or not, is a piece of art, not a product.
