A really charismatic Philodendron from Brazil and other parts of South America that is always changing. Juvenile plants have small to medium sized almost heart shaped leaves that are green to purple in colour but can appear pink in the right light, quite similiar to those of the good old Philo Micans. If provided with a support it will quite quickly produce larger, saggitate (fancy term for sort of cow-head shaped) leaves. When they mature they lose their velvetyness and the leaves become much more deeply lobed.Ā In the wild these plants can be found mostly growing along the ground but it will also sometimes climb. This habit makes them perfect for a totem or training across a wall or shelf.

Watering

Wait until the top 2-3cm centimetres of soil in the pot has dried out before watering heavily.Ā

Position

Bright indirect light and a humid position is great for these guys.Ā That said, they are pretty tolerant of lower light but they will produce smaller leaves.

Like most tropical oplants they are intolerant of frost but will quite happily grow in a sheltered spot in temperate areas even in winter.

Managing growth

Currently about 20 to 40cm tall but each trailing stem will easily get up to a metre, probably in one growing season. These guys respond really well to pruning so when they get a bit big just just cut them back and they'll initiate a bunch of axillary buds along the stemĀ giving you a much bushier plant!

Greeting your Philodendron camposportoanum

These plants are shipped in a 1.5L nursery pot that is wrapped in a calico bag to keep the soil in during transport. They will fit any pot from ourĀ Classic Pot Range.

Our special eco packaging

No Plant Stress

Our plant packaging is designed by people know how to keep plants fresh and healthy in transit. Your plants will enjoy a comfortable trip directly from our greenhouse to your door in just a few of days. Your plant will not have to deal with the stress of being bare rooted for transport (how most plants are sent) and you wonā€™t have to deal with the mess and fuss of potting up your new plant when you receive it.

Stability Support

The plastic pot will be wrapped in a calico bag to keep the soil in place, it will then be tied into a specially designed cardboard insert which will keep it stable and upright throughout its journey. The insert will be glued in place on top of your cardboard wrapped ceramic pot to hold it down and your plant up!

No Re-Potting

Your plant will come in its plastic pot which we make sure fits perfectly in whichever ceramic pot you choose. Our packaging has been designed to allow us to send your beautiful ceramic pot along with your plant, fully potted, yep in soil, together in the same box.

Fully Recyclable

The thing that weā€™re most proud of is that our packaging is fully recyclable and re-useable so you donā€™t have to feel bad about generating more packaging waste. In fact you should feel awesome because ordering from us, online, will generate way less emissions than if you were to drive to the nursery to buy a plant. The only plastic you get will be the plastic pot that your plant comes in and these can be re-used or recycled.
